PotholePro

Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 6, 2026 · Last updated: May 6, 2026

This policy describes how PotholePro (the iOS application) and this marketing website collect, use, and share information. If anything here conflicts with Apple’s App Store privacy labels for the app, the in-product disclosure and App Store listing take precedence for the mobile product.

Who we are

“PotholePro,” “we,” and “us” refer to the operator of the PotholePro mobile application and this website. Contact: privacy@potholepro.app.

Summary

Information the iOS app may process

Location

The app uses precise location to record trip routes, place detections and manual pins on a map, and (when you enable related features) to support background recording consistent with iOS permission prompts. Approximate location may be used for map presentation or coarse city grouping.

Motion & device sensors

Motion activity and related sensor signals may be used to estimate vehicle movement and road roughness for pothole-style detection. You can adjust sensitivity and modes in Settings where available.

Trip and vehicle content you create

Fields you enter—such as trip category, notes, vehicle nickname, odometer readings, and per-kilometer cost assumptions—are stored on device. These values are not financial, tax, or legal advice.

Diagnostics

Apple may collect crash and performance diagnostics through standard iOS mechanisms. If we add third-party analytics later, we will update this policy and obtain consent where required.

Legal bases (EEA / UK)

Where GDPR applies, we rely on contract (providing the app and site you request), legitimate interests (security and service improvement), and, where required, consent. You may withdraw consent without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information as defined by U.S. state privacy laws.

Retention

On-device data remains until you delete it in the app or remove the app. Server-side records created through optional features follow the retention settings of the environment you control or our hosting logs.

Security

We use reasonable measures appropriate to the nature of the data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Children

PotholePro is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us to request deletion if you believe we have.

International transfers

If you use cloud features, data may be processed where your providers operate. When we transfer personal data from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses where required.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Email privacy@potholepro.app. For data stored only on your device, deleting the app or using in-app controls is typically the fastest path. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

California notice

California residents may request categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, and may request deletion subject to exceptions. We do not discriminate for exercising these rights. Email privacy@potholepro.app.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted here or in the app where required by law.
